Residential Life oversees summer housing for all enrolled summer students and student workers. Summer housing is for current Sewanee undergraduates who are working, conducting research on campus, or enrolled in classes during the summer.

HOUSING AVAILABILITY

Summer housing is available for student workers, participants in the DataLab, and Undergraduate Research Fellowship students May 17 to July 26, 2024. Summer housing is available for students enrolled in summer school from June 2 to July 14, 2024. Assignments will be made on a rolling basis beginning in early May. 

HOW TO APPLY

The summer housing application is available on . Housing will be assigned based on the preferences submitted in the application, and space availability. Preference for specific amenities (e.g., air-conditioning, single rooms, etc.) is subject to availability and overall occupancy needs and cannot be guaranteed.

DEADLINE TO APPLY

 The Summer Housing application will be closed on Friday, May 24. Late submissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

SUMMER PROCTOR OPPORTUNITY

The Office of Residential Life will be accepting applications for the Proctor position for the Summer 2024 term starting on Monday, April 1 at 8 a.m. You can access the application through Engage.

The summer Proctor appointment is a temporary position lasting May 17 to July 26, 2024. There will be a minimum of 7 proctors hired, with additional openings depending on the number of residents staying over the break. 

Residential Life is hiring two types of Proctor roles for Summer 2024.

  • Administrative Proctors: provide customer service, maintain office hours in the Office of Residential Life, and work on special projects for 2024-2025 including marketing planning.
  • Community Building Proctors: develop a sense of belonging in the halls including planning engagement activities. Additionally, Community Building Proctors serve as a critical link between residents in their assigned area, the Hall Supervisor, and the Office of Residential Life.

This position is not available to students who are still in their first year. Priority will be given to applicants who have served as proctors previously.

  • Single Room (with air-conditioning): $1,524.32
  • Double Room (with air-conditioning): $1,170.40
  • Single Room (without air-conditioning): $474.88
  • Double Room (without air-conditioning): $240.80
SUMMER Meal PLAN

The summer meal plan will be available for the duration of the Summer School term. The summer meal fee for 2024 is $1,258.00. The board plan is required for Summer School students who will live on campus. Students with summer jobs or internships may request the board plan via their summer housing application. Students with a summer job or internship who are living locally but not in University-managed housing (e.g. in a private rental, fraternity house, etc.) may request the board plan by emailing the Office of Residential Life. The Summer Meal Plan runs from June 2 through July 13. Dining hours can be found here
